Waiting option in Conditional Actions

In this article, we’ll explain how to set up a time delay between two or more actions in your automation workflows

Waiting in Conditional Actions is a way to make automations smarter — giving them “patience” to wait for the right situation and act only when it’s truly appropriate.

Do you want to set up two or more actions and need a certain time interval between them? That’s exactly where the waiting option comes in handy.

In other words, it allows your workflow to be more flexible, accurate, and aligned with real-world processes — not just based on fixed time triggers.

How does it work?

When creating a new conditional action or editing an existing one, you can Add a waiting.

💡 This button becomes available once you’ve assigned and configured at least one conditional action.

A block will open where you can set time parameters.

This defines the period after which the next conditional action should be triggered.

💡 The interval is set using a numeric value and a time unit.

Or you can specify a particular date on which the next conditional action should be triggered.

💡 A specific date can be selected using the built-in calendar.

Next, just add another conditional action.

As a result, you’ll have a configured automation — specifically, two conditional actions separated by a defined time interval.

☝🏻 Waiting is counted as a separate action. So:

1 conditional action + 1 waiting + 1 conditional action = 3 actions in total.

💡 Note: You can configure the waiting parameters after you’ve added the required conditional actions.

Just hold the special icon (six dots) with the left mouse button and drag it to the desired spot.

To activate the automation with the waiting step, click Create (if you’re creating from scratch).

Or Save (if you’re making changes to an existing setup).

Done! Let’s test how it works.

Our first action is to create a task when the deal stage changes to Order ready for payment. The second action is to fill out the Invoice field with a value.

There’s a 10-minute waiting period between these actions.

So, at 7:20 p.m., we change the deal stage. The Invoice field is still empty.

We check the card 10 minutes later — precisely at 7:30 p.m. — and we see that the Invoice field is already filled with the required value.
